Chicago Sketches

Richard Reeder will discuss and read from his book "Chicago Sketches." He will explain how the vignettes in the book were influenced by Chicago's historically Jewish neighborhoods, including Lawndale, Albany Park, and West Rogers Park. He will describe the evolution of his written sketches from blog entries into a book.

Richard Reeder

Richard Reeder is the founder of the Chicago Jewish Authors Literary Series. His book "Chicago Sketches" has many memoir-style vignettes of Jewish content, focusing on people and places in historically Jewish neighborhoods in the city of Chicago. Mr. Reeder has taught courses on the Jewish authors Saul Bellow, Bernard Malamud and Joseph Epstein at the Oakton Community College Emeritus Program.
