Yali Amit, is professor and chair of the Department of Statistics at the University of Chicago. He was born in Israel and was active in the peace movement during the 70's and 80's while attending highschool, the Army and College. Yali immigrated to the US when he was 28 years old and has lived in Chicago since 1991. Over the years he has been involved with various initiatives to increase understanding of the Middle East conflict within the Jewish community in Chicago.
